Charity Race Night for The Children of Worcestershire Cancer Fund
So many charities have helped us on our Journey. Drew & Su (and the family unit as a whole) are on a horrendous roller-coaster in life, and we absolutley could not have got where we are today without the support of a number of charities that have helped us on our way. We have a way to go yet, but we will pay back (where we can) & raise awareness of all of these charites.
On Saturday March 25th, with the support of some fabulous friends & community members, we held a Race Night to raise funds for The Children of Worcestershire Cancer Fund. This is a fantastic charity that have supported us and many families. Friends, family, community came together and we raised just over £1000!
Fundraising supports special events, projects and experiences that go above and beyond to core NHS provision. Over just the last 12 months funds have been used to support poorly children and their families in a variety of different ways. Frequent hospital visits can be very costly for families and we have been able to provide Costa Coffee gifts cards so that children and their parent can enjoy a drink and a cake when they are on site! A difficult side effect of treatment for many children is to experience difficulty with walking and our fund has helped to provide wheelchairs and push chairs for our patients who need them. A very much loved tradition for our team it to purchase bespoke ‘end of treatment’ cakes when children complete their treatment
